The Lattice Window mirror 180 x 105cm is the fine Crittall-style grid at the width that fits two people, and the first size where the frame comes in three finishes: matt black, satin gold, or a black frame with gold glazing bars. It is 1.89 square metres of 4mm safety-backed glass under welded steel bars, 31.8kg, the heaviest 180cm mirror we sell, £319.95. The two-tone is the one we would pick for a dark hallway or a dining room that wants warmth without a gold frame.

Hanging hardware fitted; hang it from two fixings into studs or masonry, or lean it with a strap. UK stock, dispatched within one working day, two-person delivery, replaced free if it arrives damaged.

Product information

Description, dimensions, delivery and returns

Lattice Window Full Length Mirror 180 x 105cm, available in Black, Gold, Black & Gold. 4mm silver-backed glass with a reinforced safety backing in a powder-coated steel frame, about 31.8kg. Hang it with the fitted hardware or lean it with an anti-tip strap. UK stock, dispatched within one working day, delivered in two to seven working days; two-person delivery on the largest sizes.

Hanging and leaning

The hanging hardware is fitted to the back; use wall plugs and screws to suit your wall. To lean it, stand it at a slight angle and fit an anti-tip strap, especially with children or pets about. At 31.8kg this needs solid fixings into brick, block or a timber stud, not plasterboard anchors alone. Step by step: how to hang a heavy mirror and how to secure a leaning mirror.

Glass and safety

4mm backed glass with a reinforced safety backing. If the mirror is knocked hard enough to crack, the backing holds the pieces together instead of letting them fall. Glass is still glass, so it can break, but it fails safely. Why thickness matters: mirror glass thickness explained.

Black frame, gold bars: what the two-tone does

On the 180 x 105cm size, the four window designs add a third finish: a matt black outer frame with the glazing bars in satin champagne-gold. The black keeps the mirror reading as a window and hides the fingerprints a frame this size collects; the gold bars catch the light inside it, so the grid glows against a dark wall without the whole mirror becoming a gold object. It is the finish for a hallway painted navy or green, a dining room with brass candlesticks, or any room where a gold frame would be too much and a black one too plain. The plain black and plain gold are here too, at the same £319.95, and the two-tone is made at this size only on the window designs; the Lattice Window 180 x 90cm and 200 x 120cm come in black or gold throughout.

The grid itself is the fine lattice, small rectangular panes over one continuous sheet of glass, which at this size has room to read as a leaded window rather than a screen. The plain-grid alternative at the same size is the Window Pane 180 x 105cm, £20 more, for a room with pattern on the walls or a hall facing clutter.

180 x 105cm: two people, and the heaviest 180 we make

A 180 x 105 mirror hung with its bottom edge 20cm off the floor is a 180cm mirror topping out at 200cm, which shows anyone to about 205cm head to toe and puts two people square to the glass at once; one person sees the outfit and the room. It needs a clear wall a little over a metre wide, which rules out most halls unless the hall is a good one, and it weighs 31.8kg: 18.9kg of 4mm glass and 12.9kg of welded frame, bars and backing, which makes it the heaviest 180cm mirror in the range by a few hundred grams over the Window Pane at this size. That weight is a two-person delivery, a two-person hang, and fixings into studs or masonry only.

Hanging 31.8kg of lattice level

Above 30kg, treat the mirror as furniture. The two hanging points are fitted and sit far apart on a frame this wide, which usually puts them across two timber studs on 40 or 60cm centres; where they do not, a batten screwed across two studs is the method, and we would use a batten on brick too for the way it spreads a load this size. Brick or block otherwise takes two nylon plugs and screws rated above 31.8kg into the brick; dot-and-dab wants long frame fixings through to the masonry; cavity anchors are not an option. A lattice shows half a degree of lean in every horizontal bar, so mark both points with a level, hang with two people lifting from the outer frame and never the bars, hook both points on, and check the top bar before tightening. The hanging guide covers each wall and the full length wall mirror page the weight tables.

Leaning is for a dressing room or dining room with felt pads under the base and an anti-tip strap or screw eye and cable at the top fitted before anyone leaves the room; a slim window frame has little footprint and 31.8kg that goes over is a serious accident. Not in a hall. The securing guide covers the strap and the cable.

Black lattice, gold lattice or black with gold bars?

A black lattice mirror at this size is a leaded window in a dark frame: crisp on white, pale grey and sage, the finish that hides fingerprints and matches black handles and taps, and the one that vanishes on navy. A gold lattice mirror in satin champagne-brass is a gilded screen, warming navy, sage and cream and drifting to warm silver on pure white. The two-tone sits between them and solves the navy problem: the black frame holds its edge on a dark wall while the gold bars glow inside it, which is why it is the hallway and dining-room choice. All three are powder coat on the same welded steel at the same price. The black full length mirror and gold full length mirror pages make each case, and the window mirror page has all 14 window designs and sizes.

Cleaning a lattice this size

Budget a few minutes. A dry microfibre cloth lifts dust from glass and bars; for marks, a cloth dampened with glass cleaner and folded over a finger does each pane on its own, and on the two-tone the gold bars want a dry cloth rather than a wet one so the finish stays even. Spraying the whole face pools liquid at the bar edges and runs it into the join where the backing lives. Nothing abrasive on the powder coat; a touch-up pen in the right colour for a scratch. The cleaning guide has the streak-free method.

Compared with the Window Pane 180 x 105 and the other lattice sizes

Same size and finishes, plain grid: the Window Pane 180 x 105cm at 31.2kg and £339.95. Same grid under an arch: the Arched Lattice Window 180 x 105cm at 31kg and £369.95. Other sizes of this design: the 150 x 60cm at 17.6kg and £229.95 for a hall or a gap, the 180 x 90cm at 27.9kg and £299.95 for one person on a 90cm wall, and the 200 x 120cm at 39kg and £399.95, the heaviest mirror we sell, for a wall that wants a whole window.

Dispatched within one working day from UK stock and delivered in two to seven working days on a two-person service, to your door and into a ground-floor room where the route allows; free to mainland UK, offshore postcodes quoted by email. The carton is a little over 105cm wide and travels on its long edge, so measure the half landing and the stair headroom for an upstairs room; the guide to moving a large mirror covers the carry. One carton: the mirror with its hanging hardware fitted and the safety backing behind the glass, no plugs, screws or strap. Open it the day it arrives with the carton upright and someone steadying it, check every pane for a crack and every bar joint for movement, look at the frame corners for chips in the powder coat, and photograph anything wrong with the carton and the label within 24 hours; a replacement is dispatched free and the damaged one stays with you. Change of mind is 14 days, unused and in its packaging, at your carriage cost. The delivery and returns pages have the detail, and every mirror we sell is on the full length mirrors page.

FAQ

Questions about this mirror

What is the black and gold version of the Lattice Window 180 x 105cm?

A matt black outer frame with the glazing bars in satin champagne-gold. The black keeps the mirror reading as a window and holds its edge on a dark wall; the gold bars glow inside it. It is made on the four window designs at this size only, at the same price as plain black or plain gold.

How heavy is it, and how do I hang 31.8kg?

31.8kg, the heaviest 180cm mirror we sell, of which about 18.9kg is the 4mm glass. Hang it from a batten screwed across two studs or into brick, or from two rated plugs and screws into brick with the points on separate studs. Cavity anchors are not an option. Two people, level both points, check the top bar.

Is 105cm wide enough for two people?

Yes, square to the glass and side by side. Hung with the bottom edge 20cm up it shows anyone to about 205cm head to toe. It needs a clear wall a little over a metre wide.

Lattice or Window Pane at 180 x 105cm?

Lattice for a dining room, living room or bedroom with plain walls, where the fine grid has room to read as a leaded window. Window Pane, £20 more, for a room with patterned walls or a hall facing clutter, where a few large panes keep the reflection calm. Same finishes, including the two-tone.

Can it lean?

In a dressing room or dining room, with felt pads under the base and an anti-tip strap or screw eye and cable at the top fitted before anyone leaves the room. A slim window frame has little footprint and 31.8kg that goes over is a serious accident; not in a hall. The strap is not in the box.

What happens if it arrives damaged?

Photograph the damage, the carton and the label and email us within 24 hours. A replacement is dispatched free and you keep the damaged one for disposal rather than posting glass back. Check every pane and bar joint on the day it arrives.
