The Arched Lattice Window mirror 150 x 60cm puts the two most searched mirror ideas in Britain into one compact frame: a curved top and a fine grid of welded bars, over one sheet of 4mm safety-backed glass, in matt black or satin gold, 17.2kg, £229.95. The arch takes the hard corner out of the wall; the lattice makes the mirror read as a window. Hung with its bottom edge 20cm up it shows anyone to about 175cm; leant, anyone.

Product information

Description, dimensions, delivery and returns

Arched Lattice Window Full Length Mirror 150 x 60cm, available in Black, Gold. 4mm silver-backed glass with a reinforced safety backing in a powder-coated steel frame, about 17.2kg. Hang it with the fitted hardware or lean it with an anti-tip strap. UK stock, dispatched within one working day, delivered in two to seven working days; two-person delivery on the largest sizes.

Hanging and leaning

The hanging hardware is fitted to the back; use wall plugs and screws to suit your wall. To lean it, stand it at a slight angle and fit an anti-tip strap, especially with children or pets about. Step by step: how to hang a heavy mirror and how to secure a leaning mirror.

Glass and safety

4mm backed glass with a reinforced safety backing. If the mirror is knocked hard enough to crack, the backing holds the pieces together instead of letting them fall. Glass is still glass, so it can break, but it fails safely. Why thickness matters: mirror glass thickness explained.

Arch plus lattice: two ideas in one frame

An arch mirror is searched 18,000 times a month in the UK and a window mirror 2,800, and this is the mirror for people who want both. The top is a curve, with the lattice bars following it, so the frame has the softness of an arch; the body is a fine grid of panes over one continuous sheet of glass, so it has the rhythm of a leaded window and the reflection stays whole behind the bars. Against the plain Lattice Window 150 x 60cm at the same size and price, the arch is the softer, more decorative of the two and suits a bedroom or a landing; the rectangle is truer to the Crittall original and suits a hall with straight lines. Against the plain Gentle Arch 150 x 60cm at £149.95, you are paying £80 and 1.9kg for the bars.

The arch costs nothing in reflection, because the curve sits above head height, and the lattice costs a little calm, because the grid breaks the view into panels. In a small room with patterned walls that is too much; in a small room with plain walls it is the mirror that furnishes the wall on its own.

Size and coverage at 150 x 60cm

A 150 x 60 mirror hung with its bottom edge 20cm off the floor is a 150cm mirror with the top of its glass at 170cm, which by the half-height rule shows anyone up to about 175cm head to toe; the average British man is 175.0cm and the average woman 161.3cm, so for most adults it is enough and for a tall household it is not, hung. Leant at seven degrees the tilt brings more of your head into view and the same glass shows anyone from a pace back. The weight is 17.2kg, of which about 9kg is the 0.9 square metre sheet of 4mm glass and the rest is the welded frame, the bars and the backing. If the wall and the household want more, the Arched Lattice Window 180 x 90cm is the same design at 27.5kg and £339.95 with a two-person delivery.

Lean or hang 17.2kg

Hang it from the two points already fitted to the back, with the wall side bought to suit the wall. At 17.2kg two metal cavity anchors each rated above the full weight are acceptable on hollow plasterboard, which they are not on the 180 and 200cm window mirrors; brick, block or studs are better. Because the top is an arch, the hanging points sit well below the top of the curve, so measure from the hardware rather than from the top of the frame, and because the body is a grid, level it carefully: every bar shows half a degree. The hanging guide covers each wall.

Leaning suits a bedroom or dressing room with felt pads under the base, 15 to 20cm out, and an anti-tip strap or a screw eye and cable at the top on the day it arrives; a slim window frame has little footprint and goes rather than wobbles if knocked, so the strap is not optional and hallways are for hanging. The securing guide has the strap, the cable and the L-bracket for a child's room.

Black or gold arched lattice

A black arched lattice mirror reads as a window with a curved head, the kind in a chapel or an old school, and on white, pale grey or sage walls that is exactly the effect; matt black also hides the fingerprints a frame with this many edges collects. A gold arched lattice mirror in satin champagne-brass reads as a decorative screen rather than a window and warms navy, cream and green rooms; on pure white it drifts to warm silver. Same welded steel, same powder coat, same £229.95. The two-tone black frame with gold bars is made at 180 x 105cm only. The black full length mirror and gold full length mirror pages make each case, and the window mirror page has all 14 window designs and sizes.

Which rooms suit the arched lattice at 150cm?

A landing or a bedroom first, because the arch is the decorative version of the window look and those are the rooms where a mirror is allowed to be decorative. Beside the wardrobe side-on to the window in a bedroom; at the top of the stairs on a landing where it reads as a window into the roof space. A hallway second, hung, facing the door, if the hall has other curves to echo; otherwise the rectangular lattice suits a straight hall better. Not a steamy bathroom and not a garden, because the glass and backing are for dry rooms. And not a room with patterned wallpaper, where the grid and the pattern fight and the plain Gentle Arch wins.

Cleaning, arrival and returns

Dust with a dry microfibre cloth; for marks, fold a cloth dampened with glass cleaner over a finger and do each pane on its own rather than spraying the face, because the liquid pools at the bar edges and runs into the join where the backing lives. Nothing abrasive on the powder coat; a touch-up pen for a scratch. The cleaning guide covers the glass.

One carton arrives: the mirror with its hanging hardware fitted and the safety backing behind the glass, no plugs, screws or strap. Open it the day it comes, check every pane and every bar joint and the corners of the frame, and photograph anything cracked, chipped or marked with the carton and the label within 24 hours for a free replacement; the damaged one stays with you. Dispatch within one working day, delivery two to seven working days, tracked, free to mainland UK, on the delivery page; 14-day change of mind, unused and at your carriage cost, on the returns page. Every mirror we sell is on the full length mirrors page.

FAQ

Questions about this mirror

What is the difference between the Arched Lattice Window and the Lattice Window at 150 x 60cm?

The top. This one is arched, with the bars following the curve; the Lattice Window is a straight rectangle. Same fine grid, same glass, same welded steel, same £229.95; this one is 17.2kg to the rectangle's 17.6kg. The arch is the softer, more decorative of the two.

Will a 150 x 60cm mirror show me head to toe?

Hung with its bottom edge 20cm up, yes to about 175cm; leant at a slight angle, anyone, because the tilt brings more of your head into view. For a tall household that wants it hung, the 180 x 90cm version of this design shows anyone.

Do the bars affect the reflection?

They sit over one sheet of glass, so the reflection behind them is whole; you see yourself through a grid. In a small room with patterned walls the grid can feel busy, and the plain Gentle Arch at this size is the calmer choice.

Can it lean, and does it come with a strap?

It leans, with felt pads under the base and an anti-tip strap or screw eye and cable fitted at the top on the day it arrives; a slim window frame goes rather than wobbles if knocked. The strap, like plugs and screws, is not in the box because it has to suit your wall.

How do I hang an arched window mirror level?

Measure from the two hanging points on the back, which sit well below the top of the curve, not from the top of the frame, and mark both with a level; a grid shows half a degree of lean. At 17.2kg, plugs and screws in brick, wood screws into studs, or two rated cavity anchors on hollow plasterboard.

What happens if it arrives damaged?

Photograph the damage, the carton and the label and email us within 24 hours. A replacement is dispatched free and you keep the damaged one for disposal rather than posting glass back. If the carton is visibly crushed at the door, refuse it and tell us.
